As personal commentary is sometimes useful, I might include my own thoughts and feelings about the passages I present. Here's
an example of a format I might use:
Passage of the Day October 1, 2004
"Even now men cannot look at the light when it is bright in the skies, when the wind has passed and cleared them. He
comes from the north as golden splendor; with God is awsome majesty."
(Job 37:21,22)
Commentary:
Ever tried to look at the midday sun? You cant -- and your not even supposed to try. It will damage
your eyes. The sun is millions of miles away from the earth, and yet you cant look at its brightness. If we were to travel
to the sun, we would burn up long before we got there because of the intensity of the heat. There is nothing on this earth
to compare with the power of the sun. Job says the power of God is even brighter than the sun. Imagine that. To God the
sun is probably like a nice campfire. It's a fire that God built himself and hung in the heavens. We sometimes forget how
awesome God is. The next time you watch a sunset, think about God and remember that His power is even stronger.
